Some Great Places In Skiathos...

We have been here for almost three weeks and have made a list of some great places around the island of Skiathos!

The Corner Café
On our first full day here, we happened to stumble across an outdoor lounge with very friendly waiters. It is located at the end of Papadiamantis Street, right across from the port where all the boats come in and out. Our first experience with them was awesome—the waiters were super nice and accommodating and they had WIFI! We have been coming here ever since that day and we know the waiters on a first name basis. They also keep an eye on us to make sure that we are okay. It is a lounge that is always busy and I personally think that it has the best location. Tourists/visitors usually come and sit here for a cup of coffee while waiting for their ferry because they can see it come in right from their seats!
Our go to person is a waiter named Vasili. He jokes around with us and makes sure that we have everything we need here!
Doing some work with my Dad when my parents visited.
Greek yogurt with fresh fruit. Yum!!
Astoria
Tori discovered this little outdoor café and had talked to the owners. We went back there together for frappes and we were instantly friends with them. It’s a family owned business and they are very personable and actually care about their customers. Just ask for Stathi or Christos and you’ll be all set. By coincidence, I went into the little boutique that was right next to the café and Stathi’s wife actually owns it! It is called Γουστο και καπέλο. I would recommend going there for sure! The customer service is great, they are not overbearing and the selection of pocketbooks is amazing!

Time Out
This fast food restaurant is also located right on Papadiamantis Street, around the corner from The Corner Café. All the locals that I have talked to say this restaurant has the best gyros. For those of you who don’t know what a gyro is, it’s sliced meat usually served with tomatoes, onions and/or tzatziki sauce (yogurt and cucumber sauce) all wrapped in a pita. Let me tell you, it was definitely a good gyro and the service made it that much better of an experience.

Rock ‘N’ Roll
This is the place to be at night if you are looking for a bar scene. This bar opened in the year 2000 and was the first bar to use pillows and cushioning in an outdoor scene. It’s a fun atmosphere with 70s, 80s and 90s music playing in the background. They are known for their cocktails and I highly recommend them!

O’ Batis Restaurant
A nice taverna that is tucked away behind all the bars. It’s a bit of an uphill walk to get there, but it’s definitely worth it! The owner is super friendly and makes sure that all your needs are met. Everything from the bread and appetizers, to the main course to the dessert is very good. It has any typical Greek food that you could imagine. The other night Tori and I went there for the third time and they gave us a free dessert at the end of our meal!
Chicken souvlaki, eggplant salad and fried cheese.
We’ll keep looking for more great places and keep you posted!
